Friends, this is Diane Bukowski, who has published articles since 2000 in The Michigan Citizen regarding police brutality, killings by police, and the failure of Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy to pursue charges against Detroit police officers who kill, among numerous other issues. I am now seeking your support. I am being arraigned Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 1:30 p.m. in 36th District Court on FIVE FELONY COUNTS of assaulting, resisting and obstructing police officers while I was doing my job. Needless to say, these charges are completely FALSE.
URGENT ACTION NEEDED...URGENT ACTION NEEDED...
WHAT: Rev. Pinkney of Benton Harbor's Life under Threat in Prison.
TAKE ACTION: Make 3 short phone calls to Ojibway Prison ASAP
Background
The Rev. Edward Pinkney is in fear for his life at Ojibway Correctional Facility, Michigan's Upper Peninsula where, in a blatant miscarriage of justice, he is serving a 3-10 year term. A threatening, intimidating and hostile environment is being set up for him. Increasingly, violent tactics are being used in an attempt to silence and intimidate him. Urgent phone calls are needed now!

Hello!
I've been busy contemplating so many questions from so many of you about where do we go from here. It is clear that many understand the challenges that we now face and what is becoming even clearer is that far more who didn't vote for us are now looking to us for leadership on issues that we raised during the campaign like, for example, the bailout. I do have some concrete, solution-oriented ideas and will explore them with you in the days ahead. But I wanted to do something now that is important to all of us, because we still have one more Congressional election within our grasp.
We all know the importance of having someone of conscience in the United States Congress, someone of unbending commitment to our values and not just another representative of "business-as-usual" politics. Malik Rahim proved his mettle when we all watched in horror as events unfolded in New Orleans and the Gulf States.
Here's the line just before the polls opened this morning. Over 100 people and the line wraps around the corner.
It took over 2 hours to vote.
And it was worth it!
